Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Conference Director, you will help generate sales on new and existing conferences to grow the overall UBM Conferences portfolio, that are just starting in Brazil. You will constantly develop new business relationships whilst working closely with the conference producers in order to maximise revenue. 

Key Skills Required: 

  • Minimum 2 years sales experience, preferably in conference sponsorship sales with at least 1 year’s face to face and phone selling experience
  • Proven ability to build relationships at senior levels
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Creative and structured approach to selling and sales package development
  • Team player
  • Self-motivated, professional and focused in all aspects of work
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
 Position:                    Sponsorship Manager

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Selling sponsorship for conferences and a variety of networking events.
  • Delivery of the sponsorship revenue target
  • Developing & maintaining a close working relationship with Conference team
  • Collaboration with sales teams

 

Key objective include:                                                                       

 

Financial

  • Understand targets, and manage workload and sales pipeline in order to exceed them
  • Accurately report status and progress on a weekly basis, by event, and by overall target
  • Minimise any ‘costs of sale’ and clear all expenditures in advance with Conference Director
  • Help chase clients for payment prior to event, if required
  • Ensure sales contracts are signed by the client, carefully filed and adhered to
  • Discuss with the Executive any potential problems that may affect achieving deadlines and targets to ensure contingency plans can be made

 

Working with Conferences Department

  • Make sure you receive sponsorship briefs at the right time, and with sufficient information to form a sales campaign
  • Communicate progress to the conference director
  • Build good working relations with colleagues
  • Make event proposals to the conference Executive and brand based on sponsorship opportunities you have identified
  • Ensure that event co-ordinators and producers are fully briefed on event sponsors and their requirements on the day
  • Attend conferences to assist in making sure sponsors have the best experience possible
  • Liaise with the conference team to ensure that sponsor’s marketing requirements are met via all agreed channels
  • Provide signed contract to the conference team at the appropriate time

 

Internal – Publications

  • Attend meetings with the brand to discuss sponsorship activity
  • Liaise with relevant advertising teams to avoid conflicts of interest and maintain relationships to ensure cross portfolio selling potential
  • Provide written feedback on sales progress
  • Provide advisory support when required if it is in support of revenue creation

 

Customer focus

  • Achieve a professional relationship with your clients whereby you are seen as a key point of contact for information relating to their market
  • Ensure all proposals and presentations are tailored to the client, and anything you send out is of the highest quality
  • Act as a professional ambassador for the relevant brand, the conference department and the company
  • Ensure you have a thorough knowledge of your top 20 clients’ businesses and markets
  • Minimise customer complaints and act swiftly and efficiently to resolve issues
  • Ensure the client receives everything they have paid for, and that you are proactive rather than reactive, in fulfilling their contract
